There have been a number of threads posted by people encountering issues with downloading and starting the gave.
One common thread is from people using the launcher to download the complete game.
My suggestion is that the launcher only tries to download patches if 60% (random percentage) of the game is in the directory.
If this check is failed a message is given clearly directing user to the torrent download instructions
Downloader to not start in empty directory
