Hi all
Just came back after a longish break and wanted to give some immediate reactions.
When i left there was constant whinging about BO afk'ing, so makes sense something was done, however the current system struck me as extremely annoying.
Very confusing for new/returning players, i had to ask why i wasn't getting ticks at a BO, which was answered in WB chat, no probs, supplies were mentioned, i saw a box spawn near Fest, then disappear, people ran off leaving me alone at the BO, i then ran down to Boat (level 1 so no mount lol), saw a box, picked it up, hmm, no indication what to do with it now i had it, but some urgency created as there was a 6 min timer. Asked again in WB, was told had to take it to the WC, i'm like err, ok, so i have to leave a prime PVP spot, to go to a non-PVP spot, to get some free points, mmmm K, as i was typing i got killed by 2 WH's, lol, np shizz happens, ported back to Fest, saw box, picked up box, ran to WC, ran past the flag as i incorrectly assumed the NPC by the rally master with the Red event tag over him was who i had to see, nope, someone PM'd me to come back, by which time the supplies had disappeared.
Utterly confused i went back to Fest, waited for someone else to pick up a box, followed them, realised there was a flag at the guards, 2+2 finally added up to 4, Eureka! Ok, now i could perhaps get some progression going. Armed with new found knowledge i went back, tried to pick up a box, but too slow, someone else grabbed it, np, waited, waited, waited, wow, takes a while to respawn, next try i was quick enough, picked it up, took it back, got some bars to move, became pleased.
OK, seemed good, after a few more attempted pick ups and moving with someone else who was also picking them up when i was too slow i worked out that i just had to be close to the flag to get credit and rewards, but since the other guy was in my group and WB i still have no idea if the credit is group wide, WB wide, flag radius, what that radius is etc, since staying at Fest was not rewarding me when the supplies were handed in i guess there is a range limit, but got zero idea what the actual criteria are for what would seem to be one of the most important mechanics in the entire game, that of getting rewards in PVP.
Right, i was not that impressed with my Nordland experience, but whatevs, next zone was open and off to Elfland i went, ran out the WC, took note that there was a flag there, trotted up to Altar, spent 60s getting the BO, picked up the box, ran back to WC, handed it in...at which point i realised that my T1 experience would seem to be somewhat limited to picking up a Box, then horsing for 2 mins back to WC, then horsing back to the BO since it dropped control once i left, to repeat this process...At which point i ran into town and logged out.
Please note i do not want to come off as whinging about having to work for my rewards although i dare say that will be what some think i am doing, i am utterly baffled why the new goal would seem to be to forcing me to avoid any chance of PVP, so that i can get some RR etc at the WC, where no enemies will ever fight me. Since the only way to get RR when the pop is low is to pick up supplies, and there is zero point in actually capping a BO, and no bonus unless there's someone to kill at the BO area, it's completely removed the desire to cap anything and if no one i capping anything, how can the enemy players know where to go for fights?
We went from a WB in Nordland of around 12-15 players, with a relatively short run from Fest to hand in the supplies, to a MONSTER run in Elf land, and 5 mins after it switched over the WB was down to 3 people at which point i logged. It seems everyone else also had the same realisation, lol, it's just not worth the effort and the system is promoting active avoidance of PVP, if anyone even bothers to spend the time on supplies in the zone.
I checked through the forums and couldn't find any other posts about the system, so i still have no idea what the rules are for this supplies thing, i did note that someone had supplies just before i was about to log at Elf WC, but after i had left the now 3 person WB, so i figured i'll quickly pop to the flag since they were heading to hand in, and see if i got a reward, i'm 99% sure it popped me back into PVP mode before they handed them in, but since i was not in a WB i didn't get anything, perhaps because i was freshly flagged, perhaps because i was not grouped/WB'd with them, but oh well i was logging anyway just took that extra 30s to expand my knowledge of the system a lil bit as i was lacking any actual info on it.
Honestly, this is kinda a game breaker for me, whilst it was minorly annoying to have a clump of afk'ers on a BO, at least the enemy knew where there was a potential fight and as a PVP'er it was kinda fun to wade into a BO and not be entirely sure how many were going to fight back, lol. Instead i have a, likely, uneventful box pick up, then run to the WC, to get what seems like a really shitty amount of RR, so i can repeat the same thing...
I'm fully aware that T1 is hardly the be all and end all of PVP experience in the game, but as someone who loved OPVP when i previously played and often re-rolled to re-play T1 with fresh toons, this change is really sticking unpleasantly in my throat to the point where i don't want to play again, that's kinda crappy since i played maybe 2 hrs to get to this point after returning. I'm assuming T2-4 is a similar deal, with supplies the only way to get RR outside of actually killing players in oPVP? Again, this sucks, i used to enjoy running out to secure obscure BO's, get some ticks before the inevitable gank and/or fight, i would imagine the supplies are forcing players to just trot around with the zerg so they get their credit when Supplies get handed in, with occasional ZvZ fights if a WB leader was so inclined...Am i wrong in this assumption? Am i missing something amazing about this new system? Do i need to have my eyes opened to info i am unaware of or am i just going to drift away and not come back to RoR again?

Re: Returned player feedback
great story for learning process.
before patch you could find enemy at BO.
now you have to search them.
suppy line is BO to wc.
draw line and roam.
if that's too hard, just quest lvl and join t4.
BO tick or supply reward, they were side bonus for campaign mechanic.
never the purpose or center of campaign.
no reason to focus on them at all.
