I want to talk about chosen's corruption auras. Those are the auras that fall under the path of the dread (the tanky one). There are 3 such auras , 2 from normal lvling and 1 from masteries.

The First one you get is very usefull as it gives bonus toughness to you and your allies and reduces opponents' s toughness.

The second, althouth it may sound good its not really. Whenever you or a party member defend against an attack (block,parry,disrupt,dogde) you get some heal over 3 secs. The problem is that this amount is too little to make anything and its better to use another aura instead. It could be fixed if you got healed anytime you defend an attack (not once every 3 seconds) or if the heal amound were increased. Currently on rank 20 its 76 Health over 3 sec , without any masteries on it. Since both BG and BO have self heals i think this should be fixed.

The third is the one you get from masteries. It is one of the most useless abilities in the game. When its active, opponents within 20 feet of you have their cast times increased by 25%. Considering that almost all melee attacks in the game have no cast time , this only applies to ranged enemies and since chosen is a melee tank character , he fights on the frontline against melee characters. Also remeber that this is on the tanky path and not on the debuffing one. This aura should be something better and more defensive since chosens dont have the ability that other tanks get from defencive masteries and increases their block rate.

At its current state chosen luck surviveability compared to other tanks and path of corruption is not a viable option (i should also mention that he also gets a tactic from this tree that reduces the cost of other corruption abilities , why would a t4 tank spend a mastery poit on this? ). As other people have already said , in the old days WAR was unbalanced. So now that we have devs that care more for the game than the money I expect this to be fixed.

P.S. I havent check KotBS abilities but from what i know its eccactly the same. Correct me if im wrong.

Dont suggest things that would make def chosen unkillable please we are alredy good and balance.
Struggle in t2 is normal. Wait that renow get introoduce or 50% parry from t3

Sure, there are skills for chosen that arent really great at all. Its similar to other classes.

You have to understand as chosen you usually spec for
1)stagger, knockdown, mixed defenses and crippling strikes
2)for dps I have seen chosens running with CS,15% crit tactic,rending blade and either kd or stagger (with AP aura)

so u really do not have much points left to spend for auras from masteries.

I have rarelly fought vs. any chosen twisting other than str+tough+resist auras (or AP aura). I belieave reason why kotbs were twisting that horrible heal aura was cuz some tactic that increased healing taken (Im not sure. Its too long to remember)

About that block - true, other tanks have higher block chance, though with mixed defenses and that parry buff ability chosens could gain high parry chance and :
1) s/b chosens were so turtle that no1 would waste time attacking them, only dmg they took was guard dmg and since you can parry guard dmg ....
2) 2h chosens had no use for high block stats at all....


You have to remember warhammer was unbalanced. And especially in lower tiers. And especially when facing pug vs. premade or atleast new players without knowledge vs. players who knew atleast some basic rules.


And chosens arent tanky enough atm? Go fight Tesq :P :D

mean while on ordo coordination + guard = runefang procs for days :roll:

TOUGH TO KILL = CHECK!
MOAR DPS = CHECK!
SELF-HEALS = CHECK!

Like the KotBS, you're a good tank, you can't have it all!

One of the big faction balance issues is the kotbs is alot (specially the bo not even same universe) better than any of the des tanks. Though I dont suggest you buff the chosen. Id bring the kotbs to the chosens level and buff the others. If the devs want a better game than live Id start with the live devs intended changes for the sm/bo now as they develop. The changes are there already and just needed testing. friendly leap for instance is a fantastic ability in swtor that takes the meta to another level and I absolutely love playing guard due to it.

I meleed quite a few decent rr100 black orcs with my am for instance where a kotbs would **** you up.

Can you explain me the self-heals cause i cant see them? I have seen marauders farmo solo without stopping thanks to their brutallity hand but I have to rest once in a while to refillmy Health. ( I play chosen 1h + s)

By self heals I think hes reffering to that really terrible aura that heals you and your grp mates for a paltry amount every time you defend an attack

Also its not maras brutality stance,its maras monstro stance that maras arefarming with, the armor penetration ignore and the 25% chance to self heal is great for farming especially considering mdps for the most part have only 90-ish tough atm
