Originally on live, and right now we are using a "separated" currency system which has... separate currencies that are rewarded from ORvR, and Scenarios etc... And all separated by tiers of course. All of Which have their own vendors which sell gear for that specific currency only. In one of the last patches on live they unified all currencies into one. This meant you could get the sc weapons without ever doing a single sc, but only open RvR, and vice versa.
One of the biggest gripes a lot of players have with the newest patch can be seen in another thread in this subforum "[Suggestion] Increase emblem rewards on scen. While it originally only pushes for faster acquisition of emblems in scenarios (and was quickly shotdown), the "problem" could also be solved by using a unified currency. You would no longer have to "grind" scenarios, and have other options of acquiring the currency needed to buy the weapons. Those that don't like scenarios or find themselves too casual to put fort an effort to premade can feel as if they are progressing their character by doing whatever PvP they fancy, in most cases Open RvR, taking keeps, etc...
Even those like myself that really like scenarios are currently looking at whats ahead of us, and its ~300 scenarios which will quickly become more a grind than something fun, and this isn't even for BiS weapons (runescribed). It would be really nice to take a break and be able to just Open RvR, which right now has sort of become obsolete, compounded by the fact that medallions currently do nothing.
Az has stated in that thread above " I mentioned this recently but was informed that the old system was better." referring to unified currency. But I'm having trouble thinking of a single advantage the current system has over it, and why anyone would prefer it. Maybe I am blind and someone would like to reveal this to me?

you Need to understand that t2 is the at the Moment the end Tier. So you will not earn Emblem that fast like it was at the myhtic Server in t2.
The Argument "i have 5 toons so i have to Play a lot sc" is invaild for me. Ok you are right if you want the sc weapons for every toon you Need to Play them a lot. But why you should have on every toon the "best" weapons. If you have many toons you Need to invest more time to gear them up. It is that simple.
But I think we will lower the Prices for t1 weapons soon.

Re: Unified Currency vs Separated
That has nothing to do w/ unified currency, it was in response to asking for more emblems being rewarded from scenarios, which is not what I am asking for at all.

Re: Unified Currency vs Separated
And to clarify further this isn't a whine about the length of the grind, It's been made clear that this is the endgame. Just asking for different avenues under the PvP spectrum in which we could acquire a unified currency that is good for any gear from any token vendor.

+1
Since medallions are useless right now, and the emblem acqiring rate is so low, just bundle everything into one currency. That was a nightmare with all those currencies on live. You had bags full of useless tokens.

Re: Unified Currency vs Separated
No if you want the best gear you need to take part in all aspects of pvp..
That was the point of sc currency in live to force the zergers out of their comfort zones and really have to learn to play a little.
While it might be good for the hardcores with 24 toons to gear there is a reason it was this way. Think about other players and how it will encourage them to adapt how they play.
Im back in swtor for the new pvp season and it was quite shocking that in a mainly pve game the average pvp skill level is higher than in what is meant to be a pvp game. Too many depended on numbers.

No to keep afk leachers getting sc weapons for free. Either you win or dont get the prize
I think it is bad enough you get influence for flipping undefended bos and Inf/RvR currency for taking empty keeps

A reasonable RvR system that could make the majority happy http://imgur.com/HL6cgl7

That is why they need to lower inf/rp gain from BO taking and give more for kills...Bozzax wrote:No to keep afk leachers getting sc weapons for free. Either you win or dont get the prize

And i am ok with emblem "drop" got 26 in 2-3h of playing SC. With no premade so i can get more with good group (not saying i was in bad groups just it can be better organized we had some good fights)

God Forgives... I don't!

Re: Unified Currency vs Separated
I am going to guess this is the reason why people wanted separate currency, but I am going to try my best to pick it apart here.Telen wrote:No if you want the best gear you need to take part in all aspects of pvp..

First "forcing zergers out of their comfort zones" is also forcing people who don't want to be, and probably have no business being in scenarios... to have participate in them. There is no match making in WAR, when you que up for a scenario you get what you get... aside from the level bracket. I for one don't want these people deluding the quality of my scenarios even further. If there was MMR for warhammer scenarios then this would be a non-issue. This is further compounded by the fact we currently have no group que, a hopefully temporary problem.
Because of lack of MMR I can't take warhammer seriously as a competitive game, where anyone would need to be forced to participate in an area of the game that requires the most skill. Yet I still wan't to take scenarios seriously if I can, and having people who would afk in ORvR for emblems who are playing so bad they might as well be afking in my scenario is the last thing I want.
I'm also going to insert some of my own butthurt about SC weapon in response too... "if you want the best gear you need to take part in all aspects of pvp"... SC weapons are currently not the best gear, and for some caster classes worse than green lvl 17 gear. Some casual player can just join a wb in t2, afk in the WC with auto loot on and come back 5 minutes later and have his runescribed weapon possibly, which is an entire tier above the titan etc... weapons from the SC vendor. This is hopefully another temporary problem, or one that is just going to be unique to T2.
I'm sure the whole "Warhammer isn't competitive" angle I have isn't going to be enough to convince a lot of people on the side of separate currency, hopefully other people can provide a different view on why unified currency is better.
