Souvereign Weapons

While the Ring-Event is going into the sunset in a few day I have a proposal for new weapons.

Souvereign/Triumphant Sets are there a long time, most people maxed their gear and got thounsands of crests in their pockets, buying new weapons wouldn't be more challenging then buying new healpots. All this while new people will having a harder time to catch up with even expensiver new weapons.

So, why not making new weapons not that much expensiv, but instead more like a challenge, like with the ring event. Give people tasks to do in order to forge their own weapon, make stats, bonus, procs, speed, design chooseable and optainable from different tasks so people can customize their own weapon, maybe even to name the weapon. The difficulty of the task and if there will still be costs can be discussed, but it would give people a journey instead of just clicking "buy" or have to grind even more then now.

I'd like to see higher tier weapons introduced, but tied to gold bags in the last stage of cities. It would actually make cities relevant end-game content again.

Problem with it, most ror population avoids city like a plague, and for a good reason.

If you want a massive carrot then sov weaps in city and campaign back to what it used to be would create a lot of activity but also once half the server got the weapons you would need a plan b for the other half to get them too as that drive would disappear

True. More things could be included in bags that are only available to cities that can give a slight power increase to create new BiS setups. Things like royal genesis crests, royal potions, royal event slot items etc. Proper end game stuff that players will need to run frequently if they want true BiS. Cities became totally pointless once they unified the currency, so something like this could help get those sweaty fights going again for the top stuff.

I do think that scheduled cities would be better for this though as otherwise cities would only pop outside of peak hours again when most people can't play. Scheduled cities are a good idea if there's a reason to run them.

Not if the scheduled cities are at a time you cant make. Also people would just log for city and log off.

the power gap between item tiers is already big enough. offering straight up upgrades would spark a huge intial interest but the downside should be obvious. i dont believe the itemization needs more vertical progress. alternative options for niche specs would be welcome though. weapon crafting in the spirit of ring event would be cool, but only if it was available all year long and not tied to an event. <Blacksmith> npcs been in game forever now.

My suggestion was intended to be all year, sry if this didn't come out from my initial post

Its a sov weapon thing - i.e put the crests to buy sov weaps in city. Its a pvp game - people already hate having to do the pve to get the BS weapon so wont want a pve sov weap.
