This would be great. If we can get a pretty grasp on basically what an "average" player would be limited to (say a fairly new player who doesn't have tons of gold, high level crafters, etc) and be able to place limits with those types of things in mind, it would prevent people from being twinks with a big advantage, but also not penalize them severely for playing in a lower tier which sometimes you're kind of forced to do because of the low population in other tiers.Azarael wrote:I think that debolster to natural top of tier shouldn't be as highly controlled as it is now. If I were to tweak debolster I'd like to see a return to debolstering to 11/21/31 with a restriction on Item Level and talisman rarity.
If we were to look at Tier 1 for example, and wanted to change to allow the natural cap of 11 when debolstered, here is something I think would be a pretty good guideline for it:
Weapons and Armor - Allow up to item level 12. This would allow people to use up to the blue weapons which can be purchased for Recruit's emblems, which are easily accessible to even new players as well as things like helmets, shoulders, and capes that tend to drop from PvP for level 11 requirement.
Talismans - Only allow common and uncommon (white & green). No Blue or purples. Reason behind this is that any beginner can pick up a crafting skill and easily make whites & greens while the blues and purples (aside from being very lucky with crits) tend to require higher crafting levels (for better crit chance mats) or a lot fo gold to buy them.
Buff potions - If this is able to be limited, limit them similar to talismans. Only up to green pot buffs, no blues.
Essentially, this would allow someone to debolster and be on pretty much equal footing with what any other player has rather easy access to, while still allowing non-bolstered players to be able to gain an advantage if they are capable of acquiring higher rarity talis and pots.
