Remove PVE, SC, some zones...

Hi,

Sorry for this heretic post, but i just want to know opinions of other players regarding some aspects of the game.

Like all of you here, i've been playing WHO a lot since its official launch. What i always liked about WHO - RvR: shieldwalls inside the keeps, 30-minutes long sieges, ganks and roaming groups - so much fun.
But what i never liked in WHO: PvE, scenarios, additional RVR zones in T3 (due to the low population in T3) and T1.

What if RoR will get rid of PvE/SC at all, focusing on balancing RvR?
Imagine you have warcamps, PERFECTLY balanced RvR, 100% of people participating in RvR battles - do you really need anything else?

Let's be honest:
1) I don't think anyone enjoy PvE in WHO. If i need PvE - i go to other PVE-focused games. Yes, some things are linked to PvE (craftings, PvE sets), but they can be moved to RvR?
Or even more heretic thoughts - remove crafting at all, let us buy potions for gold from the merchants? Why not?

2) SC - what are their pros over RvR?

3) Additional RvR zones - T1 has 1 zone - which is fine; dunno about T3 - is it the same? If no, i think leaving only 1 RvR zone would be nice, taking in to account low population of T3.


These 3 points above will allow to save developers resources, improve RvR quality, increase RvR lakes population at the cost of removing some unnecessary game content :roll:
Instead of spending resources on the areas where WHO was always weak (PvE, crafting), focus on those areas where WHO really shines (RvR)?

What do you think guys?

Shouldnt be just one zone open at a time in t3 to counter this? The only thing that keeps na somewhat "alive" is sc and removing them wouldnt only kill a big part of the game, but also be a big slap in the communoties face ( i know some ppl that play sc exclusive). And how would we cut out pve? Its roughly about 70- 50% of each maps area. Also there has already so much time went into bringing back pqs and fixing quests that it would hurt me a lot if it wouldnt stay. Your view about some game aspects is pretty strange to be honest. If you dont like pve just dont do it, but we cant ruin the fun for everyone just because some players only want to rvr. Also working on pve does not slow down rvr progression because pve is mostly done by db devs while rvr is the core devs playground.

Remove SC means to remove one of the PUREST forms of PvP (beside Duels/Roaming)... isnt this contradicting your topic?

I prefer my ROR to be as much of WAR as it can be.
Therefore I am looking Forward to seeing dungeons, LotD and all the other content to eventually pop up for us all to enjoy. Yes, RvR is the primary focus. But WAR wouldn't be WAR without all the other cool stuff to do. :)

I suppose they could remove the Warhammer world that surrounds the RvR sandbox. Or they could not. I'd prefer they did not.

-many people do quests (many people do ONLY quests as well..) and since the devs mentioned that rvr is the focus, the worst case scenario is leave it as it may for now.. (with some quests not working, some bugs etc)
-scenarios offer the limited and more balanced (sometimes :P ) battles. its usually 12vs12 so no zergorians running around -which is nice. Some people login for an hour or so, and rvr needs too much "dedication" to reach a goal (assuming the goal is locking the zone)
-T2/T3 are merged and there had been quite some action last week when I was there

I agree that PvE is not the main concept of the game, but I like doing something extra when not in the mood for RvR.. Sometimes you get bored going solo, doing the same scenario over and over, being in the same zone etc. If you have the option of doing something else (for now the only pve that is somewhat related to rvr is either lairs or farming mobs for fragments) it is nice.

I would rather play a game that is focused on RvR and has some PvE, rather than a PvE game that has some aspects of RvR.

If this were to happen I would def be gone. The charm of the game for me is the perfect balance of rvr and pve
