@Noise Of course the Staff will have the final word. We have to help them by telling what we think and giving them somes ideas ;)

@Luth nobody is forced to answer. This system could just make the difference on the forum between those who can be trusted cause they have contibuted and those who troll again and again without helping the project.
This is a way to thanks those who contribute as they can with the time they have. The system could also adopt negative point when a member flame, troll to much but I think the better way is to rewarded the members who gret contribute rather than punish the vilains troller ;)
And for now this is just an Idea, every contructive answer is good to read to go on and see if it is possible or not and in wich mesurements...

PS: Your crystal ball is surelly a dresto's one...change it with a white elf's one, u'll see Positive before négative ;)

If there is a downvote karma button i have a feeling people will just troll and downvote you and you'll lose all your karma for no reason :/

@Mazer. @Elven So the number of karma required to down lvl could be hided (not sure of this one...) from visitor, members... only devs, moderators and the concerned member could see it...The amount of karma between rank ( a lot of karma) should be known only by moderators and devs and could be changed when they decide to. (For example, when a big update will be out, we all know that trolling will be more present than in a softer period) There also thread that are more sensible than others...

I prefer the idea of just a positive karma system. People trolling the Karma system by abusing the negative karma will just mean another thing to piss me off.

I don't wanna be punishing people for trolling negative karma. I get enough of that as it is

Allowing the staff to moderate the system too is also impeccable. We can't allow for false positive karma, which can lead to misrepresented members that may appear "trustworthy", but in fact they were abusing the system by flooding ++++ points.

This is all based on the assumption that a system was to be put in place.

Yes, for the moment, not sure that such a system will be added to the forum.

I think the best would be to let people (including staff) talk about that, and we'll see what's the result.

BTW, the best would be only a positive karma system. I only talked of system i've seen on forums.

I agree, Dascoub. If such a feature was to be implemented, apart from staff members, it will also allow for the community to know right away which other members are/can be trust worthy.

Although, this Luth guy. He sure does love his sheep, so I am still very wary of him... :|
