Im not making up numbers im clocking myself as a grind mobs. Id like to know how youre leveling at that rate whem im basically chain pulling and 1 level is still about an hour sub level 15. it most certainly takes longer than 3 hours to get out of t1 as ive timed myself going through it. If it was as fast as you say then itd be no problem, but what you suggest is simply not possible solo, youd need a group of people with you on dedicated farm status. The numbers do not support this 3 hours for 16 levels that you suggest. It took me aproximately 6 hours to go from lvl 5 to 16 solo farming, so you saying it took you 8 hours to go from 16 to 40 is...well to put it politely, doubtful. Either Im not getting this 2x buff on my account or you guys have some technique im not aware of.Manatikik wrote:And you're just making up random numbers again.Spoiler:
Literally took me (just this last week) 8 hours of SOLO farming on a SM to get from 16 to 40 before the double xp weekend. Then it took me 5ish hours to get to RR 37
(I was at like 22 from T1). Currently have full beastlord, ruin, and enough emblems to buy Merc gear. These are real numbers. So if you think it will takes you weeks to overcome this "grind" to be in the end game (this weekend would've taken you a total of 9 hours after the 3ish hours of T1) then yea this game is grindy as hell man.

What rank and gear your character has, who gets barely any bolster? Leaving t1 with proper gear you should have equal or more health than any rank 40 and 800+ mainstats without stat tactic. With tactic you break 1000. Tooltip reflects the difference so I seriously doubt your numbers.
Dying is no option.

if you put as much energy into actually playing the game as your forum posts you would be 40 already especially during double xp weekend...
Stack armour talismans... team with AOE dps and farm pq's its really that simple, this game is straight forward.
If you refuse to use teamwork which the game is based around, and the game mechanics that are in place to help you level then thats on you... stop with instant gratification please, whats next complaining that you are not renown rank 80 a week after hitting 40?
It's all about the journey no matter what pace you play at just enjoy it... you have to earn just like everyone else around you... and with recent changes you have more options because before t2-t3 was fairly dead most of the day besides a couple hours.
use /5 LFG to find teammates for pq/leveling

I don't mind the leveling rate but the world outside of RvR feels dead in comparison to live or at least how I remember it. There used to be a lot more NPC dialogue and NPCs walking around but naturally this is a private server so it's to be expected.

No you re right about that. But its not yet possible to get them to walk around. That will take some additional work as far as I was told. Mostly coding work to write the scripts for it.

It's not to be expected, it's just not done yet. And not really scripts, but whole systemoldgrumbler wrote:There used to be a lot more NPC dialogue and NPCs walking around but naturally this is a private server so it's to be expected.

Then you may chew out saupreusse for putting it the wrong way, when we talked about it.^^Hargrim wrote:It's not to be expected, it's just not done yet. I love how the certain top-notch-most-popular-mmo broke peoples mindset that the real fun begins at max level
The difference here is that the fun begins where you start to enjoy the game, and if you don't find it fun to play at level 5,15,25 then you won't find fun at 40/80 either. The endgame doesn't differ between level16 and level 40, you pvp in open zones, in every tier, against people of every level, and if you need to have max level to know if you like the class or not then there is something wrong with you. Normal people know straight away if they like the mechanic/lore/setting of the carreer they are playing

sorry to brake it to you... but the thing about character being what they are strarting from early levels is absoultely false...szejoza wrote:I love how the certain top-notch-most-popular-mmo broke peoples mindset that the real fun begins at max level

many classes acquire skill that "define" them only later on... for other there are skill that open a different role or different play style... than there are mastery skill and tactics... some playstyle are even based on COMBINATION of tactics from different mastery...
to give you a simple and quick example; melee healer, both DoK and WP will not be able to really feel how a melee healer work until they get to level 30... before that they are missing the fundamental tool for such a role (spammable melee heal)... futhermore this type of playstyle also require a specific set of tactics to be avaible (and tactic slot to soket them)... and you also need your gear to go above a certain trashold... those are all thing that you can't reach before the late 30ish level... so how can you get a feel for the class before 20? how can you say that you'r free to play such a class in a competitive (yes there are people who actualy enjoy being competitive... not simple winning fight where they are outnumbering the enemy 3:1 or fleeing if the enemy is of equal slightly higher numbers...) if you can't even play your role?
lvl 40 give you the full set of ability, give you the full set of tactic and slot to use them, allow you to make specific combination and pick up among a wider range of playstyle for every class... this is a fact...
You can enjoy the game at early levels? YES... (depending of the class and what YOU find enjoiable... rember that different people can like or dislike different things... everyone is ENTITLED to his own tastes... satisfing them or not is a different thing but having them is their own right...)
You can fully test a class at early levels? NO...
Re: leveling speed and experience gains
All that talk about gear and stuff just looks like you want to have every char with decent gear at max level until you can get the feel of the class
Mechanics define classes, not certain skills, and they don't change suddenly when you hit lvl40
Auras work the same
BW/Sorc mechanic works the same
Stealth works the same
Fury works the same
WP/DoK works the same
etc.etc.
And I agree that you can't fully test a class at early levels, damn, even at 40/80 you wil be able to test new things as new mastery points are unlocked compared to 40/40. What I had in mind is that when playing the class in T1 up to 16lvl is enough to get the general idea if you like it or not.
Also as I have stated in different thread - giving quicker exp gain will only bred more alts and xrealmers.
