Broadly speaking.

We aren't going to transform the game. But equally, it is recognised that some things that the original developers did hurt the game. Blindly implementing such destructive features would be stupid, no matter how many tears may be cried over the loss of overpowered content.

That choice can lead to two different sides, ppl can like it or simply quit, and i do say if you start change things like that ppl are going to start to ask a lot of things that dont need to be changed.

And if nothing needs to be changed, it won't be.

Our approach is still extremely conservative. We're just not pledging a 100% recreation of original WAR with ZERO changes.

My opinion:

1. RR100 expansion was one of the worst things that happend to WAR and I would not feel sorry of we never had it on this server
- OP armor sets and game-breaking RR-abilities

2. Maybe PvE bosses could drop some kind of currency on top of their normal loot
- for example a Lost Vale boss drops two random drakpromise pieces, but also a medallion for every
party member and with 10 or so of those you can buy a darkpromise pice. We would still have the
thrill of random drops but would eradicate the possibility of doing LV 50times without proper loot.

It is probably a bit early to talk about this anyways

I hope WF/DF will be nerfed(When that day come)

I prefer that RoR wont be the same as AoR. Changes are good!

There will always be overpowered content. I remember when the first players with complete Darkpromise or the awesome DP/Conq mix showed up in game, people started crying OP.
Same thing happened when the first players showed up in Warlord and my god, the horror that ensued when the first sov wearing toons showed up. Then came ToVL and the gear from there coupled with the tallis from World Boss.
(YES: The timer reset on the LoTD items was broken and that needs to be looked at, but I think Mythic actually did do something about it because a lot of OP tanks left the game in Feb of 2013).

Back then it was HARD to get your armor too. Medallion drops were rare, had to kill Keep bosses and Fortress Lords to get certain pieces and city was a rare once a week event (if you were lucky) that many thought Sov was unattainable.

What I am getting at is this;
It is not the content that is OP that was never the case.

The problem is that some people can not invest as much time into getting the gear as others do. And that will always be the problem. Personally I know I will have a hard time.
When the game was active I could play 5 to 6 hours a day if I wanted to on weekeneds and 2 to 4 hours on week nights. Now because of work and my wife having kidney failure I am lucky if I get 4 hours a week playing time.

But that is my problem. Not yours or any Devs or any players.

Solve the problem of armor/gear for people who cant invest 4 hrs a day to do a dungeon. (the option I read about token drops for all party members as well as regular loot from bosses sounds great. People can get LV or ToVL gear with medallions instead of having to do a dungeon 500 times to get a backpiece.)

Solve the problem of RR farming

If the casual player has the same armor and gear as the hardcore seven hour a day player, the divide narrows and there is no such thing out geared, out dps's toons.

Obviously, if you take your anni geared toon and go fight a sov geared toon, you will lose. That is the nature of ANY game, of ALL games. You can not equal out high end gear with low end gear. It destroys the game, it takes out incentive to do anything. If my conq/dp set is of equal value as a Sov set, why should I bother getting sov?

One note on RR cap of 80;
I can do without the rr abilities of 100, I can do with out WF/DF armor or the combinations with rr83+ armor that would drop from players. But can you include that armor as skins? :) Deff WF for WH looked reeeeaaallllll sweet :) Just look at the pic below!!!!

OHHHH and those tokens that let you change your looks as well. Those where sweet. Allowed me to age my toon and lose an eye and it was as if he was getting older in game :)

DF/WF as alternate appearance and slightly different stats not more of it*. Just more options would be awesome. I also loved the days when PVE sets were interesting and provided diversity instead of being useless.

Diversity (complexity) It is the 24 non mirrored classes countless specs abilities for each class and lots of gear options that made WAR SpArKle!

But heck I think war was best @ 1.3.8 everything after that was either a catastrophe or patch to remedy the horrors of 1.4 design

Changes are good and needed but only there where something is really flawed. Many complaints are only a result of bad understanding of game mechanics or individual performance.

The whole progression with the latest WAR build on live was totally fine. People entering T4 were ready to fight on an acceptable level and I think all want good fights without farming lowbies.

There are just several points to improve or discuss.

1. no LotD items for ranks lower 40
2. making Sentinal/Darkpromise available for T3 players, modifying rank requirements and monster level in those instances
3. renown ranks above 80, yes or no?
3.1 modifying stats of Doomflayer/Warpforged sets
3.2 vendor jewels rr80+ need to be looked at
4. warcamp cannons need to be looked at, removal of aoe cannons or reducing their range significantly
Dying is no option.

RR80 Anni vs sov fight never was as bad as 1.4 and as some make em out to be.

IMHO It is by no means much worse then having Gale and fighting pimped out 12s. Skilled groups could pick Warlords and Sov nabs that didn't play well. Ofc you won't defeat a skilled Sov 6man if you haven't got at lest some Sov crew but well did you expect that? For many healers even Anni was the **** you used until you got Warlord. When WBs clashed gear matter ofc but more so organisation and how you used morales positioning etc

To lessen the blow of joining T4 at 31/31 just make Anni sets (req 33/33) and/or possible "of ruin" sets buyable in wc. I'd even have no problem lowering the reqs to 31/31 just to make sure going to T4 getting all sparkly gear and charge into battle feels easy

This IMHO is miles better then having players avoiding RvR up to RR60 and make all PVE gear more or less usless losing all the SpArKly options that made ol'lady WAR. We can have a end game where players use 2% of the gear_table or a game where players use 15% of the gear_table

Also do contemplate that the new tierings that some think are great was fix to counter 1.4 patch craziness. So I guess it was a panic change forced after subs had dropped dropped 50-70% (guessing) and the boss demanded they did something. 1.3.8 with old tiers worked better and had 10 times as many players.

Ps. Loved the idea of moving T4 around that was posted before as it adds content (+1)
