Gentlemen, while your tactical suggestions make sense, this is not what i'm trying to achieve here. I know about ways of increasing the chances of successfully using the CC, but i think the whole idea that it can prevent you from hitting your target is wrong. I don't mind other skills failing, like punt going in wrong direction or knockdown getting parried, but:
1) CC is a morale ability. Morales are intended to be limited, but very strong and reliable in return, so wasting one is a major disadvantage. Why bother with risky CC when you can just slot something else, which will work no matter what.
2) Even more, CC is not just a "press button for damage and something" morale, it's a double-edged sword. You sacrifice your own mobility to hold your target, so fumbling it is even worse.
That's why i think there should be mechanic adjustments to CC - morale has to be reliable, especially already risky one.

I alredy reported champion challenge behaviour and it got fixed before aza gone to his vacation.
No cc can be used to move away the target from the spot be self KB or enemy KD, i also reported tank sov moral and renow immunity skill so there should be no problem in future. (Champ. Challenge was fix at some point in 1.4.X history not allowing any cc to remove the targets from the spots, be both normal skill or tank def sov/renow immunity).

IDK if he let possible KD the root target cos that should be possible

Also you are a tank you dont need to attack the target, champion challenge is alredy usefulll to make your own wb to focus that target, 1 tank damage less would make no different. If it go down, it will go down even with out your damage.
You can still taunt healer btw...

Because when I popped focused mind I still got caught in champion's challenge, and don't know if that's just how it works or is that a bug on RoR?
If you used focussed mind first then you should not be rootable, moral cannot be used, as you would have immunity to cc. Champion challenge can only be used if the target is rootable.

Did, still got caught but didn't know if it's a bug so no report.

I used FM, and still got cauught in CC after.

Champions challenge should be exactly as mentioned :

"Both you and your target are held tightly in place for 10 secs and neither one of you can move. This effect can not be dispelled or broken"

Using RD or sov set. ability to negate self-root, same as self-punt ability isnt proof it was intended. Its just a proof how the devs on official server worked - implementing new things without knowledge how it would impact "old things" and then go silent and pretend its all dandy or post some "we are aware of this", "we are working on it", "soon" messages.

Same as slayer's ID - when you were hit with ID you could simply target the debuff icon near your portrait, right-click it and voila - ID self cleansed...do not think it was intended to work that way.

And btw - if u r rdps and u fail at keeping your distance - sry but you should be punished. You could use self-punt before tank walked to you and used his root.

This was not intended, as only friendly buffs could be removed from the player by right-klicking them. Same with ID is an ailment, but was not cleansable.
Both should work correctly on RoR (though "right click removing buffs" is not working on the server yet).

That is something to report so. It should either block the tank on the spot and leave go away the caster >(as the skill description tell "ingore" ) or make m1 not able to be used on him.
It wasn't in my champ challenge report so it got no fix as other issues had. Not sure if should ingore or totaly be not rootable atm. Maybe Player that used most healers can tell us better the skil behaviour.

Also i remember that there is nothing to discuss, avoid champion challenge with any form of skill/gear skill/renow skill "after" the moral was used was a bug that gone eventually fixed in latest patches on officials.
And it was one of those long exploited bugs and long awaited fixes.
