Less Explosion/Backlash please
I tried to play BW for the first time and stopped at level 36 for now, the reason is too much reverse damage each time about 10% of the total hp, in the pug scenarios often the character himself died from his own actions. I know that you need to constantly reset this heat with a special ability otherwise there will be an explosion. My request, Is it possible somehow to reduce damage of Explosion/Backlash or less Combution/Dark Magic from abilities, perhaps in connection with this the critical chance can be slightly reduced too? It needs to make these classes more viable in small scale.

Backlash is not a big deal. In fact, it's barely noticeable at all. On average, you take about 200 self-damage per cast, which is less than one hot tick from a healer.
You don't have to reset your combustion/dark magick. There's practically zero reason where you'd want to do it. Maybe some niche situations when you want to quicky finish off a low hp tank hiding behind 100% m2 block, but overwise you always want to stay at 100%, even without a healer around. Benefits of crit far outweight the cons of damaging self.

Actually, 700 damage, not 200, and that's too much and extremely noticeable up until the sovereign set, until you have 8000+ hpTisaya wrote: Tue Jul 22, 2025 12:56 pm Backlash is not a big deal. Re: Less Explosion/Backlash please
700 damage with 35% chance statistically makes it about 200-250 damage per cast, as you don't get damaged every single cast, so it averages.
It's not very noticeable even when zerg-surfing solo, as it's usually covered by stray hots, mainly the aoe one runies throw around like candies. Now if you want to run fully solo and gank people, we might have a problem here. But that's not what the class was made for

Sad but true, so many suicides because the healers were too busy with a rez or watching butterflies
You can always reset, still feels like Backlash would be fine if there was more dps to justify it
Playing both SH and Sorc in full bloodlord, git is a killing machine where sorc is cannon fodder
Seen few BW with a good burst but it seems both classes have to go Close Quarters to reach top dps
Wich means kamikaze most of the time...
Assisting mdps works fine but beyond that, the class is not much fun to play
If a DPS patch is on the way, I hope BW/Sorc will be the first to benefit

Meanwhile dps AM dying of laughter since level 1
Re: Less Explosion/Backlash please
BW/SORC isn’t even topping aoe dmg/kills and has 0 util just ditch the class and main some of classes that balance team / dev favour
A reasonable RvR system that could make the majority happy http://imgur.com/HL6cgl7

If you dislike the BW/Sorc mechanic, avoid Choppa/Slayer at all costs =)

Re: Less Explosion/Backlash please
And yet if you look at the killboards as of today (07/22) there is both a BW and a Sorc in the top 10 for monthly kills and there is another BW in top 10 for weekly kills. While some of that is a reflection on how much time folks have to play, clearly there are folks making it work.Bozzax wrote: Tue Jul 22, 2025 8:38 pm BW/SORC isn’t even topping aoe dmg/kills and has 0 util just ditch the class and main some of classes that balance team / dev favour
But yes, they aren't as popular as they used to be b/c everyone knows melee trains are the key to victory. But I'm sure at some point they will be overtuned again and everyone will complain about them like they complain about WL and Choppas now.
