Now then, two points:
The quests in general, and those in T2 areas in particular are lackluster to say the least. You never know if the quest is even bugged or not, and even then the reward is usually just experience or some frankly awful item. And yes, alpha is alpha, it was the same way back on the official servers; but at least we had the option of doing PQ's and chapter influence rewards to complement that gear. And no, I'm not trying to bitch, but rather point out the current status.SigmarPriest wrote:View first unread post Item Wipe
With the latest hotfix we removed all "of Woe" , "Intruder's" and "Rune-Scribed items from player inventories. As these items were mostly held by a small number of players who were using an exploit to farm heroes, we felt it would be better to remove them all..
Now, arguably the most "effective" way to level RoR is grind. And dear devs: when someone spends 15+ hours doing nothing but killing gors/rats/whatever, and especially if they're doing it in larger parties - blue and purple gear WILL drop. But no, you're dismissing that easily 2/3rd's of your players grinded their way to 20, on multiple characters even; that they had blue/purple drops, and that you basically shafted them because of that small number of players.
Also on the topic of killing heroes, is that illegal here? Say if and when you release tovl, will we suffer bans for using kiting or aggro reset tactics or do you have problem with a particular hero? Or what about pulling the keep lord using a pet or kots/cho auras, will you wipe all renown for all players when you reliase that some people are doing that on a daily rate?
I get why you did what you did.SigmarPriest wrote:If certain players would have reported the exploits instead of abusing them, this step of removing items wouldn't have been necessary. We hope that this attitude will change in the future, so that we won't be forced to act even even more harshly upon the community.
We apologize for any inconvenience, thank you.
But pray tell, what should your average player do? Ignore the "good gear" because you may wipe it in the future based on actions someone else did? Report anyone offering to trade a bunch of such gear, because they MAY HAVE exploited their way to it?
You straight up said: that unless the "attitude" of the few changes, you will be forced to "act even more harshly upon the community".
So, do Witch Hunters get additional responsibilities now, or should we all maintain some doubleplus crimestop in fear of losing stuff?
...Maybe you could introduce a nice /lynch function? You use it 2500 times and you're exempt from the next wipe.
