I stopped reading after there. Why do you wanna punish people that hard? Instead of punishing people for leaving cities the aim should be to make them more fun and less of a stomp. Then people wouldn't have to quit or sit out. A game is to enjoy time and have fun, not to get punished. People seem to forget that.
Thats why he also proposed a Surrender option... Quitter debuff would prevent solo quitters that ruin City for everybody else, thats it. Solo pugs vs organized grps can just Surrender, and so can an organized group when they want to leave after stage 1 or 2, so the people that won won't have to spend 15min doing nothing.

City leaving currently gives a regular quitter debuff that impacts everything for 30 minutes.

This proposal would have a city specific quitter that only impacted city, but for days.

The current quitter debuff just stops people queuing SCs for a bit after qutting city.

This is a very minor punishment. Notice that the several days is required for them to not be able to participate in the next city. You can still queue SCs, play open RvR, PvE - basically the rest of the game.

City requires that all 24 players on both sides play out the game until there is a clear decision or it ruins the match for everyone.

If you play soccer or basketball at the local park and you agree to be one of the players for a match - no one is going to let you come back and play next week if you decide midway through that the teams are "bullshit" and walk off.

Same principle here - signing up to queue city should be considered to be making a commitment to the other 47 people in the match that you will play out the game unless there is an agreed forfeit by a clear majority on one side.

You are still allowed to quit, you just won't be welcome back next city if you break the rules by quitting midway.

The queue system currently matches solo Qs against each other. This is very important IMO to give people a chance to see city when they are fresh and dont know how to find city teams.

If you eliminated this option, solo queuers would either not play or queue as disorganized teams and the system would get worse at matchmaking.

Furthermore, group Qs rage quitting because they are frustrated at who they are losing to or at the quality of their teammates are just as serious a problem as Solo Qers quitting.

I think eliminating solo Q is most likely to reduce the quality of the city experience.

This would be fine for the solo Q instance

I do not think it would work for the group instances at all - since strong groups are very unlikely to form after the city queue has popped and rotating weaker groups or solo Q groups into lopsided group matches is not helping anyone.

This is why there is a surrender option - the other side cannot hold you hostage.

This is why there is a surrender option - the other side cannot hold you hostage.
surrender vote going thru depends on my side agreeing. and i am not going to be held hostage by them either. the truth is, cities were always ****. i say that as person who geared up full sov tank extremely fast spamming cities when they happened every night eu time. snb sm with full fluff build for that gold bag on every stage
